TruSculpt iD FAQ
TruSculpt iD body contouring is a non-invasive, radio frequency (RF) based technology designed to reduce fat in specific areas of the body. It uses heat energy to target and destroy fat cells, providing the patient with noticeable improvements in their figure. It is a safe and effective way to reduce stubborn fat that won’t go away with diet and exercise.
A good candidate for TruSculpt iD body contouring is someone who has localized areas of unwanted fat and/or cellulite that have not responded to traditional diet and exercise. TruSculpt iD is safe for all skin colors and types and can be used on the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, chin, back of the knees, or any area that has unwanted fat.
During a TruSculpt iD body contouring treatment, a handheld device delivers controlled pulses of radio frequency energy to the targeted areas. The radio frequency energy heats the fat cells and surrounding tissue below the skin’s surface, causing them to be eliminated through your body’s natural metabolic processes. This process shrinks fat cells in the treated areas, resulting in a more sculpted appearance.
You may begin to notice changes in the treated area within 2-3 weeks after your treatment, with optimal results usually seen around 4-6 weeks post-treatment. Results can continue to improve over time as your body metabolizes the eliminated fat cells. The full effects of your treatment may take up to 6 months to be fully realized.
Depending on the size and shape of the area being treated, you may require multiple sessions of TruSculpt iD body contouring to achieve your desired results. During your initial consultation, your provider will discuss the number of sessions that would be necessary for you to reach your goals.
TruSculpt iD is designed to provide a comfortable treatment experience with minimal discomfort. Most patients report feeling only warmth and/or tingling sensation during the procedure. After your treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling or tenderness in the treated area. These side effects usually disappear within a few days to a week.
