MOST FREQUENT Q&A’S
Micro-Needling FAQ
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process and encourages the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.
Micro-needling has many potential benefits, including reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines; improving acne scars; evening out discoloration; plumping and firming the skin; and reducing sun damage.
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and can be used on any area of the body, including the face, neck, chest, back, arms, and legs. However, it is not recommended for people with active acne or very sensitive skin. It is important to consult with your provider to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure.
The effects of micro-needling can last for several months or more, depending on the individual’s age, skin condition, lifestyle habits, and other factors. For best results, a series of treatments may be recommended.
Most people experience some discomfort during the procedure, but it is generally well-tolerated. Your provider will apply a topical anesthetic prior to treatment to reduce any pain or discomfort.
Side effects are typically mild and short-term, and may include redness, swelling, bruising, and/or irritation. Most side effects resolve within a few days of the treatment. It is important to follow all post-care instructions provided to reduce any risks or complications.
